Keri Smith: This Is Not A Book - Something Red

An exercise from This Is Not A Book by Keri Smith (Page 156)

This is a random adventure

1. Go outside

2. Walk until you see something red

Somthing Red

3. Take ten steps.

Look Down.

4. Look down at your feet and describe what you see in detail.

Concrete slabs, floor sideways, stacked like tetris bricks. Spotted black granite, brown pebble, pearl chips. Ghost of chewing gum spit on the floor, dried hard. Reflection of me. Dancing outline, I see the sky in my torso. Strange, these things up above. The bones of a tree, rooted in a square of cement. Brown leaves starved of heat drink puddle water.
